When we lived in Newhaven Road, Cranhill, the coal men had to deliver up 3 stairs to us. My dad worked in Tennents Brewery and always gave the men a drink at the Fair and Christmas (... he liked to bring his work home with him!) I remember one Saturday morning wandering in to the kitchen as a wee girl to find all these men covered in soot drinking beer! Argh!
